I've never owned an '85 Olds, but my brother had an '85 Calais pace car replica and I have a few interesting pics, so I figured I may as well share...

Here's one of the show replicas at the '85 Milwaukee Auto show. |

A friend got us into Renner Olds a couple nights before the Miller 200. They had this parade car there to get cleaned up for the race
and we got to look it over pretty good. The drive train was basically stock. The exhaust system was pretty much straight pipe. It
sounded a bit noisier than stock, but it didn't really go very well. |
 |
Another view of the parade car inside of the Renner shop. |
 |
The passenger side of the modified dash. The light buttons and rev limiter switch were non-functional dummies in the parade car (there
were no working track lights). |
 |
Instrument pod of the parade car. Note the red guages, 140mph speedo, and a whopping 100 miles on the odometer. |
 |
The engine compartment of one of the real pace cars. This is a heavily modified Pontiac "Iron Duke" 4 cylinder. Olds wanted to
stick with the 4 cylinder due to the forthcoming Quad 4. It appears to still have working air! |
 |
The real pace car at the end of pit road waiting for any yellow flag. Notice the side has been rebadged as a PPG pace car. This was one
of a number of different makes and models used before and during the races throughout the Indy season. |

The car out on the track during a yellow. |

Here's my brother's car at the '85 Nationals in Minneapolis. It got first in class. |
